The teenage years are a time of enormous change, not only physically, but emotionally. These changes can lead to confusion and anger in teens.

There are many reasons why teens get angry, here are just a few;

Hormonal Changes:

During puberty, hormonal fluctuations can lead to heightened emotions, including anger. Teens are more triggered and find themselves reacting more intensely to situations.

Identity Formation:

As teens begin to form their identities, they might feel misunderstood or challenged by authority figures. This need or independence can trigger frustration and anger.

Social Pressures:

Peer pressure, academic expectations, and social dynamics can also contribute to feelings of anger. The desire to fit in or excel can create a sense of overwhelm.

Communication Diffculties:

Many teens struggle to express their feelings verbally. When they feel unheard, unseen or invalidated, anger can build up as a result.

It is important to understand that anger is a normal part of adolescence.
But, it’s essential for teens to learn how to manage their anger effectively.

Helping teens understand why they are feeling the way they do is the first step to helping them learn to control and redirect their anger in a more positive way.

At Kidz Mpowered we can help. We offer individual coaching and workshops geared toward helping teens develop healthy coping strategies, with which they can navigate this challenging time with resilience and grow into emotionally intelligent adults.
